Hunter Park is a dog-friendly park in Mosman, with some time-based restrictions in place. Just 150m away, Balmoral Beach is a great nearby beach to visit with your dog.

Dog rules

Dogs permitted on-leash. Mosman Council's "Where to Walk Your Dog" page lists Hunter Park among parks where dogs must be under the effective control of a competent person by means of an adequate chain, cord or leash. Off-leash access is not permitted here; the nearest off-leash area is Lawry Plunkett Reserve, immediately behind Balmoral Beach.

This park opposite Balmoral Beach has recently been refurbished by Mosman Council so I was a little disappointed that the park was quite sparse. There is a number of sandpits (one of which is bizarrely elevated so kids could fall off). There is a slide, a set of swings and a "digger" in the sandpit, but that's about it. Nice trees and picnic tables but the actual playground is a little underwhelming.

Small park across the road from Balmoral Beach Mosman, the playground is small but has a sand pit ! Thereis sculpture of a white flower and a sculpture of Governor John Hunter , if after a swim 🏊‍♂️ you don't want to hang out with the crowd's of people at Balmoral Beach (in summer it draws big crowds of people) and you want to have a picnic with out all the activities of a popular beach ⛱️ this is a nice and quiet spot for it

Nice to walk to the Rocky Point outlook and then along the Balmoral beach to George’s Height park and Clifton Garden, a easy walk. Many people are fishing on the semi-round jetty.

Part of Balmoral Beach. Neat and tidy with a lovely wishing well nestled between old and magnificent tress. While I was there, the loud and large cockatoo birds had a wild game of chasing each other

Anywhere down at Balmoral is beautiful!! Great for a sunrise on the island, yoga, meditation, coffee, breakfast, brunch, lunch, picnic, you name it. Watch the swimmers swim hundreds of meters off shore unaware of bullsharks & place your bets 😁🤫
