The southern beach is a personal favorite, although parking can be challenging. Across the street, excellent dining options are available, and low tide reveals a lovely walking area. Two relaxing ocean pools are present, and a dog-friendly beach is conveniently located just to the north. The Headlands pub offers refreshing beverages a short distance away. It is truly a magnificent location.
NO PARKING. Alot of seaweed and something bit my foot had me scared. Good to play mermaids in. Got stung by a bluebottle there in 2018 though.
Beautiful beach, visited while staying in Wollongong. Lots of wild but friendly Cockatoo's sitting around park. Lots of parking available with Rock Pools , Dedicated Washroom/Restrooms facility. Ideal for swimming and walking on beach
Took a short walk around the Austinmer Beach. A lovely beach, similar to those nearby, only advantage is that it has quite a few eateries across the highway. However, parking can be quite a challenge on a fine day.
Absolutely gorgeous this beach. Parking is so close just 2 or 3 steps and you’re on the beach, the sand is so clean. Showers and toilets are available as well. Amazing local restaurants and food options available, has a kids play area in the car park. Definitely a family fun day worth.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
