Firepop is a cafe in Enmore where dog access has not yet been confirmed — it's worth checking before you visit.
My partner and I visited Firepop in Enmore last Saturday night and honestly, it exceeded every expectation. We’ve been long-time Firepop fans and usually only get our fix at the Easter Show or Meatstock, so discovering they had a restaurant felt like striking gold! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The waitresses were professional, friendly, down-to-earth and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the evening. For entrées, we ordered the straciatella with sourdough, pork belly pops, lamb pops and wagyu pops - and every single dish was incredible. Absolutely packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. A solid 10/10. For mains, we shared the steak with the potatoes and corn ribs, and hand on heart, it was the best steak either of us have ever had. Every element on the plate was outstanding. What truly made the night unforgettable, though, was the people behind the business. We had the opportunity to chat with the owners and were personally greeted by the owner/head chef before we left. They are genuinely beautiful people - kind, humble and passionate about what they do. Not only did we walk away amazed by the food, but we also left feeling so grateful for the warmth and kindness they showed us. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both exceptional food and such genuine hospitality. After our experience, it’s no surprise that Firepop continues to thrive. We’ll be back again and again. Thank you for an unforgettable night!
This place is incredible. We booked seats at the bar and had the classic set menu plus added on a beef steak skewer they had as a special that evening. Every dish was exceptional. The combination of flavours was unique and at the same time felt like an explosion of flavours on your tastebuds. The team are very knowledgeable about both the food and wine menus and very attentive in their service. We will definitely be returning to dine here again.
What a pleasant surprise this was! 1. Absolutely outstanding was…the acoustics. We were able to have a conversation without screaming at each other thanks to a carpeds and music that didn’t try to compete with a night club. This should be the standard. 2. They know how to put flavour into their dishes. Rhubarb featured at least twice from memory, lots of parsley, capers, and dill. The skewers (which they are famous for, I believe) were the weaker dishes. I wouldn’t bother. The scallops were a disappointment in particular. My favourite dish was the snap peas with rhubarb dressing and the mackerel was a close second. (photos) 3. Are we still at the age where meat is such a default that “the other” menu (Pescatarian) is only brought out on request? That's very 1990.
Maybe 2.5. But giving it a 3 for the nice little efforts made when you're celebrating they take a polaroid. On the plus, some dishes were quite good such as the scampi skewer and the corn desert. However, most dishes we ate were delivered almost cold, or room temperature, nothing was hot. Even my red wine was cold like it had been opened Chilled in the fridge for a week. Was also quite disappointed when I pointed it out my wine was not changed. There's jazz on some nights. Its very loud. But they did kindly move us. The biggest let down tho was how slow everything took. We were there for 3.5 hours, waiting ages between each course for the next one. In hind sight we definitely wouldn't have gone for the $140 course menu. Thought it would highlight the best, but some dishes were very oversalted, some cold like it was taken out of the fridge and just lightly charred on the outside and the duck and pork were very chewy. I'm guessing the food wasnt very hot by the time it travelled all the way up the narrow stairs. Overall I was quite disappointed, but the little touches and the friendliness of the waitresses did help make up for it a bit.
We had a wonderful experience here. We ordered lamb skewers, a green pea salad, and Wagyu everything was so good. I especially loved the duck and the crudo, they were outstanding. And I’ve tried the best steak in my life. Thank you to the staff for the great atmosphere and excellent service! Everyone was so friendly!
