Tunks Park Sports Field

Park•Crows Nest

Confirmed

Park•Crows Nest

Tunks Park is a large, open reserve on the waterfront in Cammeray, benefiting from North Sydney Council's area-wide off-leash policy (dogs off-leash in all council parks except bushland, playing fields during organised sport, and designated exclusion zones). The park is spacious with good tree cover and waterfront access, and connects to walking tracks with creek crossings that lead up towards Artarmon. It's a popular morning and afternoon spot for local dog owners.

Confirmed

Park•Crows Nest

Naremburn Park is a large off-leash space with a good mix of open grass and tree coverage. It's not fenced, so dogs need reliable recall, but the size of the park means there's plenty of room to spread out. Morning and afternoon sessions draw a friendly regular crowd. The park has BBQs, toilets, parking, and waste bags, and dogs must stay 10 metres from the playground area. It's a popular everyday park for the Willoughby area.

St Thomas Rest Park is an unusual combination — a historic cemetery, playground, and off-leash dog park all in one. Under North Sydney Council's area-wide off-leash policy, dogs are welcome off-lead. There's drinking water, BBQs, waste bags, and parking. The historical markers throughout make it a more interesting walk than a typical park.

Frequently asked questions

How are venues ordered?

By default, venues are sorted by access confidence. Confirmed venues appear first — these have the strongest evidence that dogs are welcome. Likely venues follow, then unknown. Within each group, venues are ordered by their Dog Happiness Score. You can also sort alphabetically by suburb or venue name.

Are dogs allowed in parks in Crows Nest?

Dogs are allowed in 38 confirmed dog-friendly parks, and there are another 1 more that are likely dog-friendly in Crows Nest. Dog access varies between venues. We recommend checking the individual venue page — and confirming directly with the venue before a special trip, as policies can change.

How does Dog Happiness decide if a venue is dog-friendly?

We check council regulations, venue websites and FAQ pages, and community reviews. Council and venue-operator sources carry the most weight. Where confirmed or clearly identified, we show the access status and any conditions that apply. Access information is based on the best evidence available and may not always reflect the latest changes.

What do Confirmed, Likely, and Unknown mean?

Confirmed means we have strong evidence — typically from a council source, venue website, or consistent community reports — that dogs are welcome. Conditions may still apply. Likely means positive signals suggest dogs are welcome, but we haven’t found official confirmation yet. Unknown means we don’t have enough evidence yet. It doesn’t mean dogs aren’t welcome — just that we haven’t been able to verify.

Can venue dog policies change?

Yes. Venue policies can change at any time — especially at pubs, cafés, and other hospitality venues. A venue that was dog-friendly last month may have changed its policy. We update our information regularly, but we always recommend checking directly with the venue if you’re planning a special trip.
